How much will I pay for general liability on a automotive garage?

I'm looking to open a auto shop. But the kicker is I'm hiring the mechanics as contractors with there own tools. So how much will general state requiered insurance cost me a month?

The rate varies with the state and with provider. About $10,000/yr. for $1M

What's the cheapest and best company for car insurance/home insurance/life?

We are moving out of our current state and need to switch companies. I was just wondering what the cheapest company (also with good service) for all types of insurance would be. Thanks!

the way I do it is I wait till I am due for renewal then I shop around and when I find the cheapest quote I ask my insurers if they can match it, if they cannot then I do not renew and go with the new guys.

Public Liability Insurance for a wedding reception?

The venue where I am holding my wedding reception has asked me to provide a Public Liability Insurance. I dont own a business how am I supposed to get a Public liability insurance? Please suggest.

You definitely need to call your insurance agent on this one. Many homeowners insurance policies will cover this type of event without an additional charge because it is already covered by the personal liability portion of the policy. BUT this is not universal, some companies exclude off premises rentals.

If you do not have a homeowners policy or have a homeowners policy that will not cover your off premises (away from your residence) reception the cost will be in the neighborhood of $500. with additional premium if liquor is be served.

Is this homeowner's insurance assessment deductible on my Louisiana return?

I am using turbotax to do my return this year. I live in Louisiana. I was prompted to enter in my 2008 homewoner's insurance info. It then asks for LA Fair Plan Regular Assessment amount. My homeowners says "2005 LA Fair Plan Emergency Assessment: $150" . Is this what I am propmted to enter? Is this what is deductible?

The Declaration Page names the policyholder, describes the property or liability to be insured, type of coverage, and policy limits. Depending on the location of the insured property, these line item charges may be listed as: Louisiana Citizens FAIR Plan REGULAR Assessment, Louisiana Citizens FAIR Plan EMERGENCY Assessment, Louisiana Citizens Coastal Plan REGULAR Assessment, and/or Louisiana Citizens Coastal Plan EMERGENCY Assessment. Your total allowable credit is the total of these amounts, if they are shown on the Declaration Page.

Looking to work at home as an insurance agent – I have a liscense but I don't want to do any MLM thingie or spend a ton of money buying crappy leads for a company that promises the moon and the stars. I want to do my part but I want a company that keeps their word (integrity)

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.

Historical building property insurance valuation?

What is the best way to insure a commercial building that is on the national historical registry: Replacement Cost, Actual Cash Value or functional Replacement Cost??

Well, either way, if you're going to stay on the registry, you'll be out of pocket A LOT for repairs to keep it historical.

I think functional replacement cost might get you more money than ACV, so that's what I'd go for.

Replacement cost is best, but you're not going to find a carrier willing to give it to you, I'd bet.

So, RC is best, FRC is second, and ACV is third, but the RC isn't REAL WORLD.

Important Auto Insurance Question?

A non-American girl, arrives in the USA to start her studies. She has a drivers license she received from her home country. There is this "law" saying that if a foreing person already has a driver's license he/she can transfer it into an american drivers license without taking the road test. So she did just that.??She went to an auto insurance agency. The person there simply asked her whether she has been driving for 4 years, without specifying that she had to be driving in the USA for 4 years. She answered positively even though she hadnt been driving in the USA for 4 years. Now she is insured with that company.??I'm 22 from the same country just got my drivers license in the USA without "transfering" the one i got from my home country. I called the same company for a quote, telling them that i have been driving since i was 18 in my home country (hoping i wasnt considered as a new driver) and what they told me was that "we cant insure you because you dont have any driving record in
the US". ??So what i want to know is: How does an insurance company know whether a foreign new driver is really a new driver or not???Someone told me that if that person was never licensed in the US then the insurance company will have to take your word for it. Is that true??

I don't know to which state you are referring, but I'm a licensed insurance broker in New York. Generally, if you can demonstrate previous driving history – from anywhere – you should not be considered a "new" driver. In New York you have to show three years driving history to no longer be considered "inexperienced". They don't simply have to take your word for it; you have to prove it. While your original license (if you still have it) should show a issue date which would demonstrate driving experience, the most helpful thing that you could do for yourself would be to secure a copy of your driving history/record/abstract from your home country which would show not only the original issue date of your driver's license but also your driving history.
