What is keeping Inda from starting service industry companies like banking and auto insurance companies?

I used to work for an insurance company that has out-sourced some of their IT, claims and processing work. What is keeping India from just starting their own companies in these fields, selling these products to Americans at a fraction of what American companies charge and running American companies out of business.

There are several barriers to prevent Indian companies competing in the US. I'm no expert in this field but would guess that each State has their own regulations as to who can do business, minimum capital requirements etc. Also, they may not necssarily be able to undercut American companies as their names would not be well known.

i have quite a complicated issue with insurance
1. im CANADIAN andi go to school in the states but do not hold a Michigan drivers license -however i CAN get one
2. i have no document history in michigan so this puts me at a high premuim

so is it possible for the insurance companies to insure me in michigan and use my canadian driving history….im 21 years old female…also i was thinking if it is possible to put it under my parents plan who are canadians but if they could purchase an american insurance plan and use there canadian driving history to get a quote…thanks!!

You really need to talk to an insurance company to find out all this. Usually they won't because of the status of the people…like your parents aren't citizens of the state and that is not legal here anyhow. Maybe so close to Canada it may be. So, it is worth asking. I think you'll have to buy it on you and males of your youth are the highest risk and the states and the areas base premiums on the probability of an accident happening to you and that is based on the amount of actual accidents that did happen in the past…that is how some areas have lower premiums than others do. why are illegal mexicans allowed to drive without auto insurance?

why can't we send a insurance bill to El Presidente Cauldron for his people driving on our streets injuring people, killing people, and damaging property without insurance? The county hospitals emergency rooms are filled with illegal aliens seeking medical treatment that americans taxpayers are footing the bill for. An uninsured illegal mexican ran into my truck and totaled it and I am stuck with the bill.

About 10 percent of the drivers on any given road are uninsured. That does not depend upon immigration status. I suppose, by extension, if you were hit by an anglo uninsured driver that you would want me, the U.S. taxpayer, to pay for it for you. Sounds suspiciously like socialism to me. What I recommend is that in the future you pay for uninsured motorists coverage.

Why do American fail to read and understand their insurance policy?!?

I work in Claims for a major auto insurance in the US, and it really pisses me off when our insureds call in asking for a tow or a rental and found out that they are not covered. And they would make an excuse that they thought that they have that coverage or that it would apply on that particular situation. Cant they just read and understand it so they wont have problems on the future?!? I mean I am not in America but I understand their insurance system better than most of them. And I am not boasting or anything – its just true.

I work in health insurance, so I know where you are coming from. But I also know that the reason I did not read my auto insurance is because it was delivered to me in a small novel. I don't have time to sit and read it over and over, reading through the rhetoric until I find the parts I want to know. It is just easier to call my agent and ask them what I have and what I don't have when I need to know. It would be easier for all if auto insurance coverage was listed like this:
you are covered under this policy for the following:

24 hour road side assistance, free towing, and list people that are listed as covered if driving the vehicle.

You are NOT covered for the following:

hail damage, cracks in the windshield caused by road debris, a broken taillight or headlight that was not the result of an accident….and so on.

This would make things SO much easier. You know….cut and dry.

Which insurance group gives the best homeowners + auto insurance rates?

Buying my first home soon and need homeowner's insurance. I heard you can combine your homeowners and car insurance together and get a great rate. Trying to find out which group, allstate, american family or other is best. I live in Indiana.

Any tips for getting the money I deserve from an auto insurance company?

I was in an accident, where the other driver was clearly at fault. He was driving his girlfriends vehicle, and the cars insurance also belonged to her. He was very elusive from the start. He gave me limited information to work with, and lied and told me he was insured. I figured out the name of the girlfriends company American Independent 3 days later. They sent a guy out who said that the car is totalled. But American Independent says they cant pay me until they speak with the poicy holder to see if she gave him permission to drive her car, and contact him to get his side of the story. They have been avoiding all calls. Any help?

Write a letter to the insurance commissioner for your state make sure you get (fax or email a copy) copy to the insurance company post haste. Mention they have 10 days (required by law) or you will sue. Even a little drag on your part will cause even more delays. Plan B if the value is less than your state will allow in small claims court then sue the car owner in that court. It only costs a few bucks and the court will take your side in cases like yours. Any time a vehicle is totalled by the insurance company Court decisions lean in your favor. You need to sue for Value of vehicle plus any and all costs you incur trying to collect even lawyer fees.

People who have had or have American Family Insurance?

I've been with American Family Insurance for well…14 years. I have all my insurance through them Auto,Life,Home -Anyways- I was recently told that I am paying to much by many people. I am going to check out other companys and get some Quotes. My question to you is… have you regretted switching from them? and Why? What should I watch out for? I have been happy with them But, I dont want to be paying more than I have to. Thanks.

OK, it's not all about cost!!! My insurance currently is with State Farm. I'm paying A LOT more with them, but I have MUCH better coverage – and I'm very, very careful when I compare.

So, go talk to your agent. Call an independent, get some quotes, bring the quotes to your agent, and say, hey, can you help me out here?? Because maybe they can.

And maybe your rates aren't so high after all. The people you're talking to LIKELY are just comparing apples to elephants.

Are there any auto insurance companies that can insure my car in Italy?

You're going to have to get an Italian insurance company to cover that car, if the car is in Italy. American insurance company offices don't have claims or service people in Italy, and they won't be set up to comply with the Italian auto insurance laws.

Mexican auto insurance for Americans?

Anyone have any idea what is the best Company out there which gives the cheapest auto insurance rate for Americans in Mexico.
Also if their service is good or bad compared to the other insurance companys when claims are made ?.

good luck. most accidents accross the border are hit and runs or settled with some money on the spot. also, good luck finding someone with insurance. cheapest auto insurance is not the way to go. look into full coverage in case any of the above happens. i grew up in el paso, tx (border city)
