Bankers Insurance?

I have an interview Monday with bankers to be an insurance agent and do training to be in management i believe its life insurance. I have some sales experience however my credit is pretty bad, do they check this? i have pretty good reasons why my credit is bad, will it matter? thx
the name of the company is Bankers

they will definitely check your credit, but if you have a reasonable story, you might still have a shot anyway

Should I even bother going to the interveiw?

yes

there aren't a huge number of insurance companies that will actually train a new agent from the ground up.

ask lots of questions about the training and how their lead finding process works. at the very least, you'll learn a lot.

***
of course, what you may learn is that the firm offers no significant training of any kind and only wants to use the contacts your parents and grandparents have — in which case you have a great story to tell all the guys in college about a company they'll want to avoid.

Questions about Bankers Conseco Life Insurance Company (BCLIC)?

i got an email from them after posting my resume online saying "We found your resume and are very impressed! We believe you have the qualifications we're looking for to fill our open insurance agent position"
I have few questions before going further with this…
1. is this company well known? i've read its ranked fortune 501 company. is this good place to do my internship?
2. When they say insurance agent, what would i be doing exactly?
3. whats the base salary for this position?
4. is this relevant work to my finance major?
any additional information would be appreciated.

1. Yes, they are well known.
2. Most likely, they'd want to you get a license, and sell insurance.
3. There is no base salary – it's straight commission.
4. Sort of. For insurance sales jobs, there's really high turnover. 95% of people who try, wash out within six months – they can't even make $1,000. Because it's straight commission, they have NOTHING TO LOSE by hiring 1,000 people a year, knowing that maybe 50, will still be at it by the end of the year. You do NOT need a college degree to sell insurance – however, if you want to get into management, you do, and starting in sales is a very valid way to do it.

life insurance death benefits?

My father passed away a couple of months ago. my mother is asking me for help in filling all legal docs, etc. I do not have a clue about this stuff and she is so gullible it scares me. Is there some one available for hire to assist her that will not take advantage of her?
bankers life insurance company will not send her a life insurance check without coming to her home. She told them she needs the money and is not interested in buying anything or putting the money into another account of some type. She has provided bankers life with all the necessary paper work. Why are they giving her a hard time? I do not have time to be there for her every move. She is physically and mentally capable, but has trust for anyone.

She and/or you need to hire an estate attorney. A good one will help you take care of everything associated with your fathers death.

Bankers Life is primarily an annuity company so I'm not surprised that they might try to convince her to buy an annuity with the life insurance benefit. I wonder if she went through the agent from Bankers that sold her the policy. He may be trying to get her to put her life insurance proceeds in an annuity or something so he can get another commission. You may need to contact the company directly and just tell them to send the lump sum or she will get your state department of insurance involved. If she has already filed the claim she just needs to tell the agent to back off and the company to send her money.

What is risk by signing a Banker Life of Louisiana life insurance policy at GMAC in Alexandria, La.?

Dad purchased vehicle at GMAC in Alexandria, Louisiana. Dealership had him sign a Bankers Life of Louisiana life insurance policy. On this policy GMAC is the beneficiary, and my mother is second. Policy had list of illnesses (which dad had all), but signed as had none. Upon death of dad, policy is to pay off vechicle and then vechicle belongs to mother. Trying to figure if vechicle s paid or not. Father died 8/09/06. Now Bankers Life of Louiiana sending paperwork wanting to know all his illnesses. Also, if mother gets vechicle changed to her name, will that cancel the life insurance policy.

If the policy was less than two years old and they lied on the application about your dad's health, it may not pay at all. If it was over two years old, they should not be asking about his prior health, as it would not matter. Credit life it the worst insurance you can every buy. I hope it pays off the car for your mom. My condolences on the passing of your dad.

How much can a frist year Banker's Life insurance Agetn earn?

The sky is the limit – you could earn a half million dollars the first year.

You aren't likely to. Most first year agents wash out – like 95% of them. Most of the others make about $40K that first year, if they work their tails off 80 hours a week.

how do i claim life insurance for my mother after my dad has deceased?

My father has 2 different life ins policies, when calling bankers life they said they need the original policy. One of the policies was over 50 years ago, no way i will find the original. Where do I turn for assistance in turning in these policies? Does any one no the process of documents, and legalities that need to be done after a death?

All you need is the policy number itself. Often times people don’t keep the policy number in a seperate place so it’s just easiest to ask for the original policy. As long as you can find the policy number you should be able to get the claims process started. If that doesn’t work, the company should have a data base of all their clients. Just get them to search by your fathers name and they will likely need some other information like date of birth or something as well and that should work. If the phone lacky that answers the phone doesn’t help you, ask for a supervisor and go up the chain of command. If you know for a fact he has an inforce policy there it shouldn’t be difficult to get the claims process rolling even without the orginal policy.
