Insurance companies credit ratings list?

Is there a list of insurance companies capable of paying based on credit ratings. I could find very short and sweet ones, I am looking for something more comprehensive.

If you go to www.ambest.com, they rate the financial strength and size of insurance companies. Obviously, not all companies do business in all states, so you kind of have to back into it – pick a few insurance companies you are considering, then go to AM Best and pop their names in, to see how STRONG they are, and how BIG they are.

can anyone list insurance companies off the top of their head that would do liability ins. for school?

it's a small healthcare school we are looking for liability insurance for ~200 students and ~25 instructors. The main reason is because sometimes students and instructors have to go to clinical sites. If you are an agent comment with company name and ~ quote to get any of my interest. And if you know insurance company that does this type of ins. let me know; thank you

Selective, and Cincinnati, both write in Illinois specializing in schools.
I would need more info to supply a quote, how much property coverage, how much general liability, do you need commercial auto, what about work comp? Most insurance companies want the whole package and won't just write General Liability.

The more companies, the better. I want to send my resume to as many insurance companies as I can. Getting my resume out there and all.

Can anyone show me a list of insurance companies with a home office in downtown Chicago?

I'm looking for the major insurance companies in downtown Chicago (not branch offices either, their home office, and not in a suburb, it has to be downtown). They can do any type of insurance too: auto, health, life, disability, etc.

I don't know of ANY that have a "HOME" office in Chicago. Sorry, you'll have to get your yellow pages out, look up the companies, and go to each website to verify where their HOME office is.

Many of them will be out of the US.
