I'm approaching the annivesary and wedding insurance will not cover soon they better hurry up I take it this is unusual?

If you're working with a professional photographer and purchased an album along with their services, you should generally get your album about 6 to 8 weeks once you approve the design of the album layout.

If you haven't heard from your photographer in a while, give them a call to see what is the hold-up.

Can I negotiate price with insurance company regarding lost diamond in my wives wedding ring?

The ring was scheduled on my homeowners policy and I have replacement cost but to replace with a comparable ring at todays value, it will cost much more! I had the ring scheduled at $2000 and it was close to 1 karat. Also the insurance company has a program whereby they send me discounted diamonds via Fed Ex to look at that they get a cost break on from selected dealers. The insurance company has an agreement with select dealers to send their loss claims to the dealer and in return they give the insurance company a discount on diamonds. The diamonds are all certified.
My main question is if I have replacement cost do I have the right to get my wife a comparable diamond in color, clarity etc. regardless of cost and is the insurance company obligated to pay for it?
Please help!!!

If you insured the ring for $2,000, that's all the insurance company is obligated to pay. If they are offering to replace the diamond, you may be better off selecting one they send you that comes closest to the original.

You can try negotiating for a higher price, but I doubt they will go above the amount scheduled.

Travel Insurance for Wedding Dress ?

My fiance is travelling back to Canada in two weeks to buy the wedding dress for our wedding next year, which she will be bringing back on her return flight.

In the light of the recent heightened security at British Airports, there is a chance she will have to put the dress in the hold of the aircraft.

If she does this, would travel insurance cover this ?

Most travel insurance companies I have looked at, give a figure of approximately £250 cover for individual items, which is I do not think is enough to cover a dress.

Does anyone have any experience of this ?

Any info or views would be gratefully appreciated.

Yes that is covered under your contents coverage portion of your policy. BUT if the rings exceed the amount of that coverage you are screwed unless you added a jewelry rider with an appraised value. Call your agent and get it squared away.

I have a rider on the ring for up to $2500 coverage with a $500 deductible.

Depends on WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RINGS?

A homeowners policy has "covered perils"… for example: windstorm, fire, theft – so if your house burns and the rings were on the nightstand – it's covered

If you've just lost or mis-placed them a homeowners policy will NOT pay for them
If this is hypothetical and you're looking to the future of what MIGHT HAPPEN it's smart to put a Personal Articles Policy on the rings – it covers absolutely anything from losing them, stolen, stone falling out, mysterious disapperance…. and they're SO CHEAP you'll be shocked!
For $3000 coverage on jewelry (with NO deductible) is approximately $43/year or $3.58/month

Wedding insurance for our reception?

Ok here it goes. My wedding reception is going to be at a fishing club my uncle belongs to. For some reason we need insurance. My parents got a good price for my sister's wedding (a little over $400 for 1 million $ coverage), plus at her wedding she had a lot of friends that drank a lot but no one drove home druck and nothing happened. Well, my fiance's father thinks we should go with his insurance which is $1500 because he thinks we need it. We do not really have any hard partiers comings to the wedding and I think everyonje will respect us. By the way both of our parents are paying for half but my parents are giving us $6,000 toward the wedding. I would like to save some of that $ for our honeymoon and only spend $6,000 but if we go with his father's way of thinking we will not have much money left over and my fiance does not care. What should I do please help?

How much coverage for the $1500? I know that 1 million sounds like plenty of coverage, but if you have someone get into an accident that could be exhausted very quickly. Is his father friends with the agent that is quoting $1500? More info please.

Please can you tell how much you paid for your wedding insurance and which company you used?

We had ours from Confetti and paid around £50. That was 2 years ago though.

You can now get wedding insurance from as little as £23.99 from a company called Weddingplan. E&L are only just a little bit more too. If I remember rightly, Confetti insurance is actually provided by the same people that do Weddingplan.

Wedding consultant or insurance agent?

Hey there. I'm considering being either a wedding consultant or an insurance agent. Are either of these your career? Do you like it? How can I go about doing either one of these?

You can do both. Work part time as an insurance agent and be on call as a wedding consultant. If you are on a commission basis with the insurance company I see no problem.

Some of the big players are E&L, Wedding Plan and Confetti. There are also high street names that supply wedding insurance such as Debenhams and M&S.

We got ours from Confetti but didn't need to claim anything so I can't really tell you what they're like. Cheaper cover also seems to be available elsewhere now.

In the current climate it seems any company can go bust but I'd imagine you'd be ok with one of the bigger names.

I've answered assuming you're asking about wedding insurance available in the UK. Other answers seems to be assuming USA. Hope that's ok.
