Why are people in the insurance business and wedding photography business disliked?
Funny. I don't know anyone who dislikes wedding photographers. If they do, maybe it is because some of them are way overpriced?
Insurance people, though, it is obvious. Insurance is, generally speaking, WAY overpriced, and these people are specifically trained to find excuses NOT to pay on claims. It is not their fault, but the nature of their job results in most of them screwing people over for large amounts of money. Naturally people are going to dislike them.

How does insurance change if I have my engagement ring and wedding band welded together?
My husband insured my engagement ring when he purchased it. Now that I have two rings, I would like to have them welded together. Would this cancel or nullify the insurance on my engagement ring? Would I have to re-insure the rings after I have them welded together?
It's not going to change them at all. YOu might want to ask your agent to note your file, that the two rings have been welded – but it won't affect value, coverage, or anything else.

Public Liability Insurance for a wedding reception?
The venue where I am holding my wedding reception has asked me to provide a Public Liability Insurance. I dont own a business how am I supposed to get a Public liability insurance? Please suggest.
You definitely need to call your insurance agent on this one. Many homeowners insurance policies will cover this type of event without an additional charge because it is already covered by the personal liability portion of the policy. BUT this is not universal, some companies exclude off premises rentals.
If you do not have a homeowners policy or have a homeowners policy that will not cover your off premises (away from your residence) reception the cost will be in the neighborhood of $500. with additional premium if liquor is be served.

Wedding/honeymoon insurance?
I am looking into wedding insurance and travel insurance (for the honeymoon) but am not really sure what I am looking at/reading when I do the research. We are traveling to Jamaica in October, which is about the start of hurricane season, so we want to be covered in case something happens. And we just thought that a few hundred dollars to cover the wedding was good sense. Does anyone have any company recommendations or tips? Thanks!
wedding insurance isn't about protecting against people drinking too much or vendor no-show — it's to ensure you get your money back. You can't assume that because a vendor doesn't show that you automatically get your money back. They were shady enough to not show up in the first place, weren't they? So there's no guarantee they won't try to swindle you out of your deposits. I trust that my vendors aren't shady, but in the event that something happens beyond our control, I want to get my money back.
I've never heard of wedding insurance. *I look it up* I don't think that sounds worth it at all. I mean if something happens, it's messed up regardless. If the weather messes it up, it will still ruin the day. Regardless of getting your money back. And it says that it protects against Vendors No-Show. Well no. It will get you your money back. That doesn't really help. You'd get your money back regardless b/c they didn't show. But you won't have a photographer there on your day. And that's what you really wanted. You have family members you are seriously worried about drinking so much you need protection from alcohol injuries? Don't serve so much. It really only sounds useful if you are in the military and there is a possibility of being deployed.
Travel insurance for the honeymoon is a necessity. I mean if it has to be cancelled, the cruise ship will either refund the money or give you credit for another ship. Plus the insurance is for if something comes up and for example, you are in the hospital and can't go. Or a family member gets ill. If you don't, the money is just forfeited.

should we get wedding insurance?
my mom was telling me that i should get wedding insurance or something so that way if a vendor happens to not show up or something it will be covered for the money i lost..i'm not really sure if i should do this? where would i get it from? and how much is it?
also i was wondering.. in a limo is it just you and your new husband riding in the limo to the reception or does the whole bridal party? thanks in advance for everything!
I've never heard of such a thing. And, I don't know why you would need it.
The vendors you choose, need your business – they can't really afford to have bad publicity, so there's no way they wouldn't show – IF you have done your research, and found reputable people. If you hire your MOH's little brother's college room mate's ex girlfriends brother to be the DJ… then well, he might not show, but go with someone who is well known (not the cheapest guy either!) and you'll be good to go.
As far as the limo… Generally it's you, and the female members of your bridal party showing up in the limo, then at least you, DH, MOH and BM in the limo to the reception… if it's big enough, it can be your entire bridal party.
Just make sure you remind everyone to have a ride from the reception site home. You may think it's silly, but I can't tell you how many stories I've heard about people not remembering that they need a car at the reception site after riding there in a limo.
Good luck, and Congratulations!

For your wedding, did you have to purchase event liability insurance?
Okay ladies…
Which company did you go with for your wedding/event liability insurance
What has your experience been with them
How much did you end up paying
Which part of country are you (curious if the cost varies by region/state)
every venue in my area requires it.
and "da vidica"- wth are you talking about?
I'm in St. Louis, MO and the chapel we're having our ceremony in requires it because its a historic landmark. We're getting it through the organization that owns the chapel. I don't know what company they use, but it will cost us about $150 for the required $1,000,000 policy. Try asking your venue if they have a preferred company to give you a starting point.

Would YOU Marry someone for Health Insurance, due to Chronic Pain and then have the Wedding of YOUR Dreams?
I have chronic pain, in my lower back and leg, from getting hit by a car, while walking in a crosswalk. I had the wedding planned before than my brother, Mom, then Dad died, in less than six months. I was going to start planning the wedding for next summer, but got hit, and I am in chronic pain and can't work and very thrifty, and have some great ideas, but can't think clearly, at this time, until I have this surgery, that my car insurance will not approve at this time, and could take a year or more to approve. Would you marry now, to get the surgery done(as my Fiancee has great insurance and doesn't need any Approvals to see a specialist) and then get married that summer after the surgery so my son (10) gives me away. Also, can you hide it or is it against the law not to say you are married? Opinions is needed! Thanks!
My Fiancee's insurance"COVERS ALL PRE EXSISTING CONDITIONS"as he works for the Military, and I would not hide it to officials but to some family and friends, until we have our "OFFICIAL" Wedding, the summer after the surgery, s it is in the works, years ago!As I work with insurance companies, and I know some insurance DO COVER PRE EXSISTING CONDITIONS, but you have to do research. Plus, each state is different! I guess, I am lucky to love a man, planning a wedding, over 3 years ago, and I am able to be covered for all my health issues, as my son has some, and his father WILL NOT pay for any insurance, and my Fiancee/Husband, would gladly step up and be a DAD! I am blessed! So, if anyone stated that insuance will not cover Pre Exsisting condions, must do their homework, as there are some that do and YES there are some that will not,but with these days, most people have issues, even at birth, and if you are from a single parent home, that child can't be covered? YES, they ARE COVERED!
get married get your injuries fixed you can have a ceremony later ,
only if it is for frudulent reasons
