My home insurance company is asking me for a sale and/or installation documentation for my windows and other..
opening protection showing the wind speeds that the protective device can withstand. I am in Florida. Why they are asking for it after 6 months I renewed my policy and been living on that house for 1 1/2 yr? If someone can explain it to me.. please!
Well, sounds like either 1. you had a claim (or the prior owner did) or 2. the company is "reunderwriting" their homeowners book of business.
You're in hurricane alley. They are LIKELY looking for an excuse to cancel your policy. I would knock myself out bending over backwards to dig that information up as soon as possible.
they're looking for a way to get out of paying or to make you pay them back for what they paid in the passed. be careful they play dirty.you ever hear of "word play" your about to get an up close look at it. good luck

They are looking at you as a potential hurricane victim and to determine if your structure is protected to a certain level. If you do not provide the info they want your policy could be cancelled altogehter.
