how do i find out my landlord's homeowners insurance company.?
My landlord tried to fix the water heater less than a week before the house burnt down because of the faulty water heater.i will like to file a 3rd party claim against his homeowner's insurance company but i dont know who he insured with. Duffman gave you the correct answer. You can file a third party claim against your landlord. You do not have to file suit. However, you do need to prove that he was negligent. You will need the source and origin report from the fire department.
If you cannot prove he was negligent, his homeowner's coverage will not cover you for your personal property.
