I have a problem with the trash trucks, they keep knocking down my telephone line and their insurance co wont?
My house is brand new and everything legal. Their ins co says I need proof that it was them. But when I leave for work and the trash truck is coming up the street and five minutes later my wife calls my cell phone and tells me the lines are down again this is more likely so than not. Especiallly when the boy next door saw them do it once! Who should I contact I'm tired of repairing the house every two months.
Have your wife call them as soon as it happens. You know the day of the week and general time the trash truck is coming. So have her watch them. Let them know you have witnesses if the boy next door saw it happen.
Have your wife stand out there with the video camera. Or just install a security camera and leave it pointing at the phone pole.

Same thing use to happen to us. Someone was doing construction down the street and this dumptruck would knock down the line everytime it came down the street. The phone company raised the phone line and that worked but call the trash company and complain

I believe it is the responsibility of the phone co. to maintain a proper height of the wire to your house. If it is not high enough to accommodate your trash hauler let them know and they will raise it for you.

a camera of some sort would be your best bet. but if its happened more than once…and you TRULY believe its them…surely you would have thought of having someone watch them do it… so it sounds to me like there is doubt in you beliving your own story.

Unless you think you can get all your neighbors to cancel service you need to contact the phone company. The trash truck has no control over the height of the lines and has a job to do. It is the phone co. responsibility. You might contact the trash company and let them know whats going on and they should get ahold of the phone co and have it fixed unless you are rude with them. It happens all the time so they will know what to do.
