Can I have a list of insurance companies that won't cover abortion?
I won't financially support one or belong to one.
Thanks ![]()
I don't think they do in general it is elective unless it is for the life of the mother. Most don't cover pregnancy either unless it is a group plan and many don't cover birth control pills and I have never heard of one who covers condoms.
I didn't have coverage at all and abortion was illegal in 1967 but when I was in the hospital they decided to do what they called a threatened abortion because they didn't know if I had already lost the baby or not. They did a D&C to stop the bleeding and may have aborted my less than 1 month old fetus but I had already had two transfusions from lost blood before they did that.
Some abortions are needed to prevent death of the pregnant woman, insurance should cover it. Rather mean spirited of you to want to have them not be covered when needed not elective.

I think generally all do. It depends how much bill you will have to pay on your insurance deductible.
A friend of mine had a abortion and she is billed $2200 and her deductible is $3000 so she has to pay everything off, no help from insurance company
and here insurance is from BSBC – blue sheild blue cross
Good luck

You're confusing insurance COMPANIES with specific insurance POLICIES.
All insurance companies will cover abortion. However, not every single policy available through that insurer will cover it.
Employer groups have a lot of flexibility to pick and choose what "extras" they want covered on the policy they purchase for employees/dependents. They can choose to exclude certain services to save money on premiums (or whatever other reason they wish)…that's why some employer groups exclude things like weight loss surgeries, abortions, etc. Because cutting back on the "extra" components of the benefit plan can save you money on premiums.
But nearly any insurance company would allow abortion coverage as a benefit on the plan, if the employer group wanted to pay the premiums for it.
It always surprises me that people don't realize how much of a role their employer plays in what their insurance policy does/doesn't cover.

You won't find the answer which you seek, since insurers cover abortions for some group policies and not for others. The dictates of any group policy are generally proposed by the employer for whom the policy is written.
Hence you may find an insurer which does not provide coverage on MOST of its standard policies, yet provides the coverage for one or more specific group health policies.

No, you can't. Some states, it's a mandated coverage. Most insurance companies will pay for it on some plans – but not on others.
I don't think there are ANY insurance companies that NEVER cover abortion.
