I made a payment to my auto insurance company online on there website.. it was for 247 but today I went to the atm and realized they took 547… now I am over drafted and cant pay my other bills. What can be done, will I be able to do a stop payment on Monday or will it be too late?

Well, you can't put a stop payment on something that has already been paid. Once they have taken it from the account there is nothing to stop.

You can wait until they are open and contact the insurance company to tell them the problem. Ask them to pay for the overdraft fees that they caused.

If they wont return the extra money charged, you would have to talk to the bank and tell them you didn't authorize that amount to be paid and the bank will get it back.

Hopefully you have your reciept to show the bank or insurance company how much you were paying, that will make it easier. It wont be too late, you have plenty of time if you deal with it Monday.

If the insurance company wont pay for the overdraft fees, then you can ask the bank to waive them, which they might do if you are in good standing.

I'm not sure which you did, but if you made the payment on the insurances website, contact them first. If you did a bill pay from your checking account online, contact them first.
