are you wanting to become a licensed agent? you have to have a certain amount of class time to do this (usually 40 hrs) and then you have to take a state board exam.

It really depends on what you want to do in insurance….and what type of insurance you are looking to get into. Larger insurance companies will generally not require that you be a licensed agent to work for them (even in sales or account management). But again, different positions require different levels of education. Whether that be a bachelor`s degree, MBA, etc….
