should we get wedding insurance?
my mom was telling me that i should get wedding insurance or something so that way if a vendor happens to not show up or something it will be covered for the money i lost..i'm not really sure if i should do this? where would i get it from? and how much is it?
also i was wondering.. in a limo is it just you and your new husband riding in the limo to the reception or does the whole bridal party? thanks in advance for everything!
I've never heard of such a thing. And, I don't know why you would need it.
The vendors you choose, need your business – they can't really afford to have bad publicity, so there's no way they wouldn't show – IF you have done your research, and found reputable people. If you hire your MOH's little brother's college room mate's ex girlfriends brother to be the DJ… then well, he might not show, but go with someone who is well known (not the cheapest guy either!) and you'll be good to go.
As far as the limo… Generally it's you, and the female members of your bridal party showing up in the limo, then at least you, DH, MOH and BM in the limo to the reception… if it's big enough, it can be your entire bridal party.
Just make sure you remind everyone to have a ride from the reception site home. You may think it's silly, but I can't tell you how many stories I've heard about people not remembering that they need a car at the reception site after riding there in a limo.
Good luck, and Congratulations!
Do not make the insurance I think.

Bridal insurance makes NO sense unless you have an extremely spendy wedding. Sorry, don't know much else on that.
I believe traditionally it is JUST the new husband and wife in the limo. Trust me, you're going to want a couple minutes to be alone between the 2 events… just trust me… it's you're only chance for a break!

You could purchase insurance but I would just make sure that you have a contract with all vendors that if the service is not provided you get your money back.
Limos to the reception can be done that way. I have planned weddings where there are two limos. One to bring the bridal party and her parents and one to bring the grooms party and his parents and then for the reception a limo is used just for the couple and the other for the rest that rode in the first two limos.
If you are short on money you could either have everyone in the limo with you or you could make sure that they had alternate transportation to the reception.

Married 4/5/08
I don't know all the specifics, but our reception venue required wedding day insurance. We set it up through the same company as our homeowners insurance for a small fee.
