What do you think about wedding insurance?

We are getting married in 2010 and a couple of venues which we are interested in have asked us to have $10 million liability insurance.
I asked our insurance broker and they advised that we need to take a separate liability policy which could be $1000+??

This sounds ridiculous to me. I believe in living out your dreams and having a fantasy wedding but this is just over-the-top. Maybe you should just scale back and have a normal wedding.
